Organic Hummus

Classic Hummus made with organic chickpeas. Serve to friends at your next party or gathering, or serve to the family as a healthy snack.

Be sure to soak your chickpeas for a minimum of 8 hours or overnight to soften the beans, this will make them easier to digest.

Organic Times
Soak Time: 8 hours minimum
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4 servings


  • 400 grams Organic Times Organic Chickpeas
  • 1 small organic garlic clove (peeled and crushed)
  • 1 Tbsp organic tahini
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin


Classic Hummus

  1. Soak your beans in enough water to allow the beans to expand. Soak for a minimum of 8 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the beans and rinse in cold water.
  3. Place the chickpeas into a food processor along with the garlic, lemon juice, tahini and oil.
  4. Using a spatula, scrape down the sides and blitz again.
  5. Add a pinch of salt and taste. Add more lemon or oil if necessary.
  6. If your hummus is too stiff, add a splash of water to loosen.
  7. Serve on a plate with your choice of sides - olives, flat bread, crackers, carrot and celery sticks.
  8. Optional - sprinkle with cayenne pepper.
